Movie Preview: Confessions of a Shopaholic with Isla Fisher

Those of us who watched the 90210 premiere last night got a special surprise in the show's second hour: the first trailer for Confessions of a Shopaholic! The movie, based on Sophie Kinsella's best-selling book, stars Isla Fisher as the adorable, silly, and sassy heroine Becky Bloomwood.

A couple of things: First of all, I thought Becky would have a British accent, but nope, she's American. OK. Second, when the trailer first came on, I thought it was some sort of credit card commercial thanks to all the shopping scenes. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. And third — but probably most important — Isla Fisher looks like she's bringing all of her usual sparkle and charm to the role. Not that I doubted her, really, but I was a little nervous we'd lose her comedy beneath some of those over-the-top outfits we've been seeing. There's a quick succession of scenes at the end — doing a little jig in a dressing room, speaking fake Finnish, and doing something inexplicable with a fan — that just makes me giggle every time.

Isla Fisher still waiting to wed Sacha Baron Cohen

THEY have already had the baby and their commitment is as enduring as any wedding ring, but Aussie actress Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen have again postponed their nuptials due to heavy work schedules.

The Hollywood-based couple, who welcomed their first-born daughter Olive last year, originally planned to tie the knot later this year.

But their stellar careers are keeping them from saying “I do”, with both stars in constant demand for big screen projects.

While Cohen is channelling all his energy into the hugely anticipated Borat follow-up film Bruno, Fisher has spent the past four months shooting Confessions of a Shopaholic in New York.

“It’s going to happen, it’s just hard for them to find the time at the moment,” a source close to Fisher told Confidential.

Her fiery locks aren’t just a signature style – for Fisher, 32, they also provide a convenient excuse! “It was great having red hair as a kid because I had something to blame my temper on,” the Aussie actress says. “Now I go for the same color palette as Conan O’Brien. I did dye it blonde once, but it backfired, as I had nothing to blame my temper on!”

The Lookout DVD Coverage

The Lookout was finally released on DVD here in the UK and I managed to get my copy. It was my first time of seeing the film and I really enjoyed it - and especially Isla’s performance. It is a different role for her and she did a really good job as Luvlee. Definitely one of my favorite Isla roles to date! I’ve added screencaptures and video clips for your viewing pleasure.

I got my copy of the Definitely, Maybe DVD and created screencaptures of Isla’s role as April. I love both the performance and the character and the movie is one of my favorites that Miss Fisher has done to date. As per usual, I will be adding video clips on my next update.
